Rebecca J. Phillips

December 11, 1949 — June 22, 2013

Rebecca Joyce (Bachtel) Phillips, beloved wife of Paul J. Phillips, peacefully passed away in her Argos home at 7:30 am Saturday June 22, 2013. She was born December 11, 1949 to Donald E. and Marie A. Bachtel in Plymouth, Indiana. She is survived by her mother Marie of Plymouth, husband Paul (Skip), three sons, Michael, Christopher and Benjamin (all from Plymouth), one brother, William J. Bachtel of Middlebury one sister, Mary e. Bachtel of Bourbon and four grandchildren.

She was a light to her family and had a passionate relationship with God. Her love for life was visibly expressed in her art which included painting, drawing, and creating images for the family rubber stamp business. She loved to garden and one could see her creativity in and outside of the home. Her contributions to the local community included coordinating the annual Marshall County National Day of Prayer and the local Pastor’s Prayer Network. She was also actively involved in the leadership of the Plymouth campus of Church of the Heartland.

She held a degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and loved to teach, even Homeschooling her sons for several years.

Her family was blessed continually by her devotion to God and others, and she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25th from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will be held there at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th where calling will resume one hour prior to services. Pastors Herb and Heath Hiatt will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
