Rebecca Kay O’Hara

Rebecca Kay “Becky” O’Hara, a lifetime Plymouth resident since she was seven years old, died of natural causes at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, after becoming ill at her residence, 2000 Westgate Ave., on Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at 8 a.m. She was forty-five years old.
Becky was born in Middletown, Ohio, on August 20, 1955. She was the daughter of Jack M. and Ina Patrick O’Hara.
She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1973 and earned a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification after attending Ancilla College and graduating from Ivy Tech. She enjoyed continuing her professional education by reading medical periodicals.
Becky worked at the former Parkview (now St. Joseph Medical Center) Hospital for 23 years. She then worked for three years at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, and then Pilgrim Manor, all as a caring LPN.
She loved camping at Jellystone Park, music of all kinds and movies especially comedies.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose, the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries.
Becky is survived by three sons and a daughter, all of Plymouth. Her sons are: Chad A. and Kathleen Hatfield, Bryan R. and Dustin E. Hatfield. Her daughter is Mellisa W. Hatfield.
Bailey J. Hatfield, a granddaughter, survives as well, together with seven sisters. They are: Scarlet Dennis and Ina O’Hara, both of Knox, Jackie Dean, Mary Ellen Vicroy, Eva and Rose O’Hara, all of Middletown, Ohio, and Pat and Jeff Six, Plymouth.
In addition, three brothers survive. They are: Dan O’Hara, Franklin, Ohio, and Mike and Joe O’Hara, Middletown, Ohio.
Tracy O’Hara, a half-brother, Middletown, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews survive also.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shannon O’Hara.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2001, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, and again Saturday one hour prior to services.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2001, in the funeral home. Pastor Pat Puglisi, pastor of the Plymouth Missionary Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Becky’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
