Rhonda J. Arvesen, 72, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on August 29, 1953 in Plymouth, Rhonda was the daughter of Wayne and Mildred (Albert) Nelson.
On November 6, 1970 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, she was united in marriage with Robert Arvesen. Rhonda graduated from Plymouth High School in 1971 and went on to earn her Associates Degree from Ancilla College. Throughout the years, Rhonda worked various roles including managing Key Bank in Plymouth. She held a dedicated career at Ancilla College where she worked as an Outreach Coordinator for Childhood Development before she transitioned to her role as an administrative assistant in the nursing department. Rhonda left a lasting impact on the lives of countless nursing students before her retirement in 2020. Her enthusiasm for supporting the community was evident through her involvement with the Plymouth Booster Club and youth softball.
Those who knew Rhonda knew her love of animals. On a sunny summer day, she enjoyed working in her garden while watching the birds. She was especially fond of spending time on the deck watching the hummingbirds buzz around the garden.
The cornerstone of Rhonda’s life was her family. She loved her children and she found incomparable joy in watching their lives flourish as they raised their own families. Rhonda was the happiest when she was together with her family, especially at Christmastime. Her competitive nature was evident when she was gathered around playing board games, finishing a puzzle, or watching the Chicago Bears with her family.
Whether it was her creativeness shining through or her compassion for those around her, Rhonda will be remembered for the passionate way she lived life. Her legacy will live on through the love and memories she shared with her family and friends.
