Richard W. Mcneal, Sr.

September 10, 1941 — November 23, 2007

Richard W. McNeal, Sr., 66, a Plymouth area resident most of his life, died following an illness, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, in Avalon Village Nursing Home, Ligonier, IN .

Born in Tyner, IN., on September 10, 1941, Richard was the son of Woodward and Goldie Cudney McNeal, I. He attended Tyner schools.

Richard and Margaret Ann “Peggy” Farner were married on October 6, 1962, at Koontz Lake, Ind. Peggy died on April 30, 2003

Richard had been a factory worker all of his life, retiring from Bomarko in 2002.

An avid fisherman, Richard also enjoyed NASCAR racing, playing hand held games, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by two sons: Richard McNeal, Jr. and Woodward McNeal, II, both of Ligonier, IN; three daughters: Frances Kratzchmar of Oregon, Barbara and Benny Cripe of Ligonier, IN, and Lisa Huddleston and friend Kevin Stewart, of Bourbon, IN.

A brother, Gene McNeal of Plymouth, IN, and two sisters, Shirley LaBere of Walkerton, IN and Kate Ward of Knox, IN, also survive together with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Peggy Ann McNeal, a granddaughter, Cindy Luann McNeal and a brother, Melvin McNeal.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, November 27, 2007. in the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in the Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. John Lutton, pastor of The Church of the Nazarene, Ligonier, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts in Richard’s memory may be made to Parkview Hospice of Noble County.
