Plymouth

Robert “Bob” W. Kershner II, 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

He was born on October 27, 1947, in Decatur, Indiana. Bob was the son of Robert W. Kershner and Barbara (Andrews) Kershner.

He attended Adams Central High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He earned his associate’s degree from International Business College. On October 11, 1969, he married Ann (Baker) at St. Mary of the Assumption in Decatur

Bob was known for his strong work ethic. He was employed at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company from 1969 to 1990, it then transitioned into Trunkline Gas Company before he retired in 2003. Upon his retirement, he would work for CMS Energy Corporation as a Chief Inspector.

His love for his children and grandchildren went beyond measure as Bob truly never missed an event that they were in. More often than not he would be the first one to arrive at the baseball or football field or the basketball and volleyball court and it wasn’t because he wanted the perfect parking spot.

Bob was a kind and gentle man taking the glass half full mentality and always having a positive outlook on things. He was an avid horseman, winning the 1988 IQHA State Show Circuit Champion Amateur Heeling on his horse, Junior. Bob also won many shows with his cutting horse Lighthawk. When he had spare time Bob would be glued to the tv to a good Western or a football game.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Plymouth; daughter Krista Ann (Michael) Baran of Streamwood, Il; son Michael William (Emily) Kershner of Plymouth; 3 grandchildren: William, Lydia and Elliott Kershner; brothers: Stephen (Kathy) Kershner of Oldsmar, FL and Phillip (Karen Schory) Kershner of Ft. Wayne; sisters-in-law Mary Baker of South Bend; Jean Larrabee of Decatur, Ruth Ahlman of Valparaiso; Jacki Kershner of Decatur; and brother-in-law Joseph (Nona) Baker of Decatur; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel, sister-in-law Eileen Gardner and brother-in-law Thomas Ahlman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.
