Robin Yvonne Firestone, 73, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026 at the Center for Hospice Care Ernestine M. Raclin House in Mishawaka. Born on September 11, 1952 in St. Paul, Nebraska, Yvonne was the daughter of Howard and Caroline Will.
Yvonne married Michael Firestone at the Marshall County Courthouse on May 23, 2008 in a intimate ceremony. They celebrated 18 years of marriage. Through the years, Yvonne worked in various roles including at a floral shop in her youth and spent time as a veterinary assistant where her love for animals flourished. She later went on to work as a cashier at Walgreens before relocating to Indiana.
She loved to spend time outside; particularly casting a line at her favorite fishing spot or camping with her family. When she was resting at home in the evenings, she liked to play games on her phone while watching TV.
Those who knew Yvonne will fondly remember for bold personality who wasn’t afraid to stand up for what she believed in and would fiercely defend those she loved. She leaves a legacy of strength; a trait she instilled in her children since they were young.
Yvonne will be missed by her beloved husband, Michael; children, Robert Ivey, Ryan (Nikki) Ivey, Rikki (Ryan) Chrisp, and Ashley Pyles; 12 grandchildren along with 4 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her dogs, JoJo and Chopper and her kitties, Ziggy, Shadow and Boop.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Caroline; along with her brothers, David and Mike.
In honor of Yvonne’s love of animals, memorial contributions can be directed to ABC Clinic, 4525 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614.
