Roger R. Chmielewski

Roger R. Chmielewski, a beloved father, brother and friend, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at home with his family by his side. Born in Fort Wayne on October 12, 1968, Roger was the son of Raymond and Rosann (Lynch) Chmielewski.

Holding a longtime career as an electrician, Roger worked at Bay Valley and Metal Cast for several years before transitioning to his role at McCormick’s in South Bend. Roger worked hard and played harder. He was fun-loving and known as the family's jokester, always bringing laughter into every room with his bubbly personality. He was not shy about standing firm in his beliefs and sharing his thoughts with others.

One of Roger’s greatest joys was riding his Harley and tediously cleaning it up after a long day on the road. His family nicknamed him “Mr. Clean.” He loved going to concerts with his children and would play the drums in his free time for fun. Whether he was watching a golf tournament or soaking up the sun on the beach, Roger lived every moment to the fullest.

Roger will be missed by his children, Rachelle Stouder (Jason Pogar), Shannon (Blair) Stark, Matt Reese (Jillian Mayfield), and Christopher Chmielewski (Madalynn Arnett); grandchildren, Carter, Lauren, Kaydence, Kamden, Elliana, Parker and Elsie; his sister and best friend, Wendy Booker (Stephen Thompson) along with her children, Steven, Kayla, Kristen and Brandon. Roger is survived by several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Rosann along with two brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 4-6PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6PM with Pastor Wyatt Smith officiating.

Roger will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Oakhill Cemetery.
