Rosalie Whitt

July 15, 1947 - February 1, 2023

Rosalie Whitt, 75. Passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Born on July 15, 1947 she was the daughter of Grover and Grace (Riley) Posey. On September 12, 1961 she married Billy Whitt in Rutledge, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1988.

Rose was known for her southern hospitality, a very loving woman that would do anything for anyone. However, she was also known as a “firecracker” that would protect those people that were most important to her. To her family and her friends she was the most amazing woman in the world. Someone who was gentle spirited that showed unconditional love and was an angel on earth.

She enjoyed gardening, playing with her grandchildren as well as the great-great’s. Also catching the latest episode of Judge Judy and never missing a Sunday Sermon from Jimmy Swaggart. Rose will be deeply missed by those who she loved the most.

She is survived by her children: Wayne Whitt of Terre Haute, IN; Cynthia (Mitch) Tomblin of Syracuse, IN; Marsha Churchill of Bremen; Ricky Whitt of South Bend; siblings: Roscoe (Suzanne) Posey of Hillsborough, OH; Kenneth Posey of Frankfort, IN; Linda (Richard) Schooley of Nappanee; Jean (Eric) Smith of Frankfort, IN; Janet (Shad) McPherson of Maysville, KY; Billy (Tracy) Posey of Fayetteville, OH; Grover (Kaye) Posey of Hillsborough, OH; grandchildren: Cameron (Anthony) Williamson, Christopher (Krista) Tomblin, Amber Tomblin, Courtney (Kayla) Hochstetler, Shania (Justin) Hochstetler, Jordan (Anias) Churchill, Matthew (Whitney) Pique, Heather (Vince) Whitt-Yuhl;11 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy, daughters: Corena Williamson, Lisa Whitt siblings: Clayton Posey, Susie Grove, and Robert Posey

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 12-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow.

A private Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
