Rosemary J. Longworth

October 12, 1931 - September 12, 2020

Rosemary J. Longworth, 88, passed away in her home on Saturday evening September 12, 2020.
Born on October 12, 1931 in St. John, Missouri. Rosemary was the oldest of three children born to William and Eunice (Phariss) Longworth. Near the age of 9, Rosemary’s family would move to Simpson, Illinois. She would graduate from Vienna High School with the class of 1948.
A hardworking and loving mother, Rosemary wanted to better provide for three children: Steven, Joel and Joy. She would attend Southern Illinois University and graduate in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Spanish. She would work as an assistant librarian at the Vienna Public Library; a job she very much loved. She would substitute teach for the local high schools and teach Spanish to the inmates at the local prison. Rosemary was a free-lance writer, writing a Gothic romance novel, Wild Cliffe, that would be published as Blood Wedding by Simeon Brooks. Her family and she were very proud of this novel.
Rosemary and Joel would move to Plymouth in 2014 to be closer to her grandson, Chris and Staci, and their children. She enjoyed her animals, reading and gardening. She could often be found playing games on the computer. But Rosemary really enjoyed the times and memories made with her grandson, his wife and her great- grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted son, Joel Robinson of Plymouth; grandson, Chris (Staci) Mammon of Bremen; great-grandchildren: Shianne (Steven) Moran, Corie (Haley) Manges and Zakary, Amberlyn, Aleena, Braelyn and Bella Mammon; great-great-granddaughter, Kyra Jernigan-Mammon; and siblings: Hal Longworth and Juanita Shoemaker.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her son, Steven Robinson; daughter, Joy Manning; and her parents.
Per Rosemary’s request, no services will be held.
