Rula June Schaal

Rula “June†Schaal, 91, and Plymouth resident most of her life, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, at 4:20 am on June 27, 2017 at Miler’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
June was born in Plymouth, Indiana on March 16, 1926 to Donald and Edith (Freese) McCan. She graduated from West High School with the class of 1944.
On June 16, 1945 in the North Salem Church of God in Plymouth, Rula June married Ralph E. Schaal. He would precede her in death on August 30, 2010.
A loving, devout mother to their four girls, June was always there for her family and taking care of their home. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Family times together meant a lot to her with the memories made and family dinners.
She worked for Hehr International in the machine department for 17 years before her retirement in 1987. June was a member of Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and active in the Mary & Martha Circle through the church.
June is survived by her daughters: Rose (Phil) Calvert of Muncie, IN, and daughter Teresa, Karen Holdread of Lake Havasu City, AZ and children Denise and Chris, Diane (Hal Scott) Schaal of Etna Green, IN, and Mary High of Plymouth and children Kara and Andy; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Chloe, Calli, Amelia, Grayson, Hudson, Kyle, Amber and Chelsea; siblings: Larry McCan, Joyce Morris, Lynette Hartman, and sister-in-law Hazel McCan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law, Steve Holdread, and siblings, Delmar McCan and Jean McCan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 30, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth with Rev. Tamara Boggs officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
