Ruth A. Blystone, 74, passed away at home on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Born on October 17, 1951, in Gary, Indiana, Ruth was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Carrico) Valovich.
Ruth worked for Miller’s Super Value and later as a cashier for Speedway. She was known for her friendly and outgoing personality and was never afraid to speak her mind. Above all, Ruth was an exceptional listener who offered support, understanding, and encouragement to her family and many friends throughout her life.
Ruth also had a love for Chinese food and considered herself a connoisseur, especially enjoying hot and sour soup and chicken with garlic sauce.
She is survived by her sons, David (Becky) Blystone of Rochester and Jeffrey (Teresa) Blystone of Bremen; her siblings, Joan (Everett) Lee and Tony (Linda) Valovich; and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Jonah, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Gloria Kotel and Rose (Bud) Sorg; and her brothers, Joseph Valovich Jr. and Charles Valovich.
In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
