Salina Albert

March 30, 1910 — October 28, 1999

Eighty-nine year old Salina Albert, a resident of the Bremen-LaPaz area since 1933 coming from Brazil, Indiana, died, following an illness, at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 1999, in the Bremen Health Care Center.

Salina was born on March 30, 1910, in Brazil, Indiana.  She was the daughter of Thomas P. and Lucy E. Webster Black.  She attended schools in Brazil, Indiana.

On June 2,1934, in Plymouth, Salina and Purl E. Albert were married.  Purl died on July 10, 1983.

A homemaker, she and Purl ran the Dixianna Cafe at the corner of U.S. 6 and U.S. 31.

Salina was a busy lady.  She enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens.  She was devoted to her husband whom she visited daily in a nursing home for 12 years.

She attended the LaPaz Church of God and was a former member of the Bremen Order of the Eastern Star #117.

Salina is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Purl, two sisters and four brothers.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Sunday, October 31, 1999, from  2 to 5 p.m.

Her funeral will take place in the funeral home on Monday, November 1, 1999, at 2 p.m.  Pastor Mike VanDeVoorde of the First Community Church of God, LaPaz, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
