Samia Schrom, formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025 at Falkville Health and Rehab in Falkville, AL at the age of 88. Born on October 3, 1936 in Plymouth, Samia was the daughter of Forrest and Dorothy (Peterson) Armington.
A devoted wife to her late husband, Dale Schrom, whom she married in November of 1956, they enjoyed a remarkable 63 years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a family in the very home where Samia herself had grown up, instilling a deep sense of love and tradition within their household.
A graduate of Plymouth High School in 1954, Samia was known for her warm presence and kind-hearted nature, making her well-liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She worked as a dedicated self- employed seamstress for most of her life, leaving her mark on many people in the Plymouth community throughout the years. Later in life, she employed her exquisite skills in wedding dress alterations at Treat's Bridal Shop, where her talent for crafting beautiful garments helped countless brides feel special on their big day. She passed on her passion for sewing to her daughters, Christina and Sheila, teaching them her meticulous skills and appreciation for crafting beautiful things.
In addition to her talents as a seamstress, Samia had a wide array of interests that brought her joy throughout her life. She relished day trips and classes at the Senior Center in Plymouth, where she fostered friendships with many. Her love of crafts, flowers, puzzles, and caring for her beloved cats created a joy in her life. Until moving to Alabama eight years ago to be closer to her daughter, she never missed an opportunity to attend the Marshall County Blueberry Festival.
Samia Schrom's quiet grace and genuine kindness touched the lives of many, creating a loving legacy that will continue to thrive through her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina (Ron) Hulse and Sheila (Paul) Alexander; grandchildren, Marie (Heath) McCleskey, Melissa (Kris) Ward, Kristen (Lee) Rooks, Brandon (Hannah) Hulse, Jordan Alexander, and Grant Alexander, as well as her twelve cherished great-grandchildren.
Samia was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Dorothy Armington; her husband, Dale Schrom; and her brother, Jim Armington.
