Samuel E. Leake

May 28, 1921 - February 10, 2007
In Memorial

Samuel E. Leake, 85, died Saturday evening, February 10, 2007 at his home in the company of his family. Sam was a former resident of Warsaw, Indiana.
He was born on May 28, 1921 in East Point, Kentucky, the son of Sam W. and Martha A. (Moles) Leek. On November 17, 1942 he was off to proudly serve in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was active duty in the 462nd Air Service Group serving in Normandy.
On November 6, 1955, he took as his bride Patricia A. Lee and made Plymouth their home. Sam had worked for the railroad and retired as a shop supervisor for Steel Warehouse in South Bend after over 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and the Moose Lodge No. 1423 of Warsaw. Sam enjoyed growing a huge garden and giving the produce away.
Surviving is his wife Pat, daughters; Rhonda L. (John) Brown of South Bend, Debra A. (Richard) Gee of Plymouth and son Duane E. (Roxanne) Leake of South Bend. Grandchildren include: Eric, Shannon, Andrea, Andrew, Annestasia, and Jenny. Also surviving are sisters Ethel Schuh of Elkhart and Vivian (Jerry) Kelly, with brothers Glen Leek, Robert (Eileen) Leek, Don (Mary) Leake and John M. Leek all of Warsaw along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Helen Nichols and brothers Elmer L. Leek and Mirl R. Leek.
Family services will take place and burial will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Center For Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S. Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
