Samuel W. Edging

Samuel W. Edging, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born in Camden, IN on November 20, 1929 to Dallas and Hilda (Snell) Edging.
Sam received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1952. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army. During his time in the service, Sam designed and built bridges in Korea.
He married Ellen Bopp on May 29, 1958. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2009.
Sam worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and mushroom hunting. He also loved dogs; especially his golden retrievers.
Sam is survived by his daughter, Sue Edging; stepson, John Vautaw; and brother, Dallas Edging, Jr. of Burlson Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Hilda; and siblings, Carolyn Griggs, Robert Edging, and Dale Edging.
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in the Camden Cemetery, 200 W. Cemetery Street, Camden, IN 46917.
