Sharon L. Bope, 72, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 in the Elkhart Hospice House.

She was born June 30, 1944 in Plymouth, to the late Samuel and Alma (Pike) Hite. Their marriage blended his children, her children and they were blessed with three children of their own: Doris McFarland, Charles Hite and Sharon.

Sharon married Raymond R. Bope on July 18, 1987 in the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos. They had grown up in the same neighborhood in Plymouth, then Sharon married and moved to Rochester. In the mid-80s, Sharon returned to Plymouth and they met again through Ray’s sister Suzanne. They have enjoyed a happy, fulfilling life for nearly 30 years.

She studied accounting at Ivy Tech in Logansport after obtaining her GED in 1977. She enjoyed working as a title clerk at a local auto dealership and helping her customers. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery with her sewing circle, genealogy and bowling and golfing with Raymond and their friends.

Surviving is her husband, Raymond R. Bope, Plymouth; two daughters, Kim (David) Duff, Argos, and April (Rodney) Gross of Rochester; step-daughters, Raymi Bope, Oklahoma, Debbie (Michael) Watts, South Bend, Faith (Tony) Gamble, Plymouth, Kristi (Christopher) Mabis of Columbus; step-sons, Danny Bope, Plymouth, David (Brandi) Thompson, Phoenix, Arizona, and Coy (Brooke) Bope, Winter Haven, Florida. Also surviving are many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and half-sister, Marie Masterson, Plymouth.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, thirteen siblings, former husband William Sweet Jr. and step-son Ward Bope.

Friends are welcome to celebrate Sharon’s life from 11:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday May 19, 2017 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Utley officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
