Sharon Marie Schadek (Shari) went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on July 6, 2023. She is the daughter of Raymond Cecil and the late Marie Elizabeth Thompson (Morrey). Shari was born in Dowagiac, Michigan on March 31, 1962. She attended Oregon-Davis High School where she was an honor student and tremendous athlete, graduating in 1980. Her determination and hard work in these areas enabled her to find success later in life in the insurance and banking sectors. She married the love of her life, David (Dave) Schadek on November 18, 1989.
Shari and Dave enjoyed playing and watching sports and spending time with those they love. She took great joy in life’s simple pleasures, being with family and being a gracious host. There was nothing she enjoyed more than creating delicious meals and hosting gatherings for family and friends. She had a very warm heart, and it was felt by all. Her loving and caring demeanor lived out in her boundless willingness to help others, always offered with joy and kindness. It was her quiet inner strength that balanced the family and brought the best out in every life she touched.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marie Elizabeth Thompson, but her memory lives on in those who love her most. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Dave Schadek of Plymouth, IN, sons David Schadek Jr (Carrie) of Plymouth, IN, Brandon Schadek (Susie) of Plymouth, IN, and Derek Schadek (Nicole) of Westfield, IN. She took great pride in her grandchildren, David, Allyson, Taylor, Ryleigh, Owen, Zoey, and Levi Schadek. She loved them with her whole heart, and they loved their “Shar Shar.” She is also survived by her father, Raymond Thompson of Koontz Lake Walkerton, IN, sisters Patti Minix (Doyle) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Kathleen Thompson of Koontz Lake Walkerton, IN, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation with friends and family will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, Indiana. A service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Life Celebrant Jim Smart officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory to the donors’ choice of charities.

My heart aches for your family. May you find peace knowing what a fabulous life Shari had with Dave, her children and grandchildren. When we were able to meet for lunch, I could tell she had great pride and love for her entire family. Shari and I were the best of friends throughout our Jr. – Sr. High School years. Even as we went our separate ways after High School, Shari continued to call me each year on my birthday to see how I had been and to catch up. We were not able to see each other often, but I will miss her dearly.

My words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I also know these words may not have great effect for your relief. You are one of the most dedicated family men I know and my prayers are with you through it all. Without exception, if there is anything I can assist with, you need only to ask. God Bless you Dave.
