Sharon L. Sparks

It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Louise Sparks announces her passing on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, at age 52 in Plymouth, IN.

Sharon was born to Jeanette and Theodore "Teddy" VanBuskirk on July 14th, 1973, in East Stroudsburg, PA and had three older sisters: Pam, Janet, and Kathy. She went on to meet Arthur Flora and welcomed their son Austin Flora in 1994 and daughters Emily and Karrissa Flora in 1996.

After Arthur and Sharon went their separate ways, she met Matthew Elliott Sparks, whom she married in Indianapolis, IN on May 26th, 2001 after welcoming their daughter, Olivia VanBuskirk, in March of the same year.

Sharon always cherished her children and grandchildren and often saw their friends as her own. She is remembered as "Mama Bear" to most and devoted her life to raising her children after being widowed on October 7th, 2005.

Sharon was diagnosed with dementia at just 49 years old and passed in her home where her long-term partner, Juan "Stevie" Guerrero, cared for her.

She will be missed by her children, Austin, Emily, Karrissa, and Olivia; long-term partner, Stevie; grandchildren, Sebastian Flora, Robyn Flora, Damien Flora, Audrianna Flora, Kymani McEntyre, and Ahlaysia Rodriguez; sister, Pam; along with extended family and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew; parents, Jeanette and Teddy; sisters, Janet and Kathy; grandson, Xander Flora; and father-in-law, Ronald "Ron" Gilmore.

The family will be holding a private service later this year.
