Sheila G. Berry

August 13, 1948 - June 4, 2021

Sheila G. Berry, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and her beloved dog Baby on Friday, June 4, 2021, in Amboy, Illinois.

Sheila was born in Plymouth, Indiana on August 13, 1948, to Ethel (Samuels) and Mack Johnson Jr.

She married Terry L. Ritenour Sr. in August 0f 1967. They had three wonderful Children. Then in January 1981 she married William E. Berry.

Sheila worked at American Optical and later she became a CNA. She loved dancing to her favorite music and enjoyed fishing, boating, and cooking with her Husband, Bill. She loved spending time with her grandkids playing games and teaching them life lessons. Especially, how to lose if they were not paying attention. She also enjoyed spending time with many other family members and close friends.

Sheila’s family includes her son’s Richard Lee Ritenour, Terry Lee Jr. (Angie) Ritenour of Hot Springs, AR, and daughter Carri A. (Steven) Doege of Amboy, IL; grandchildren: Jessica Ritenour, Kevin(Christian) Ritenour, Shawn (Emily) Ritenour, Taylor (Jenny) Doege, Cassey (John) Lampe and Karlee Doege; great-grandchildren: Blake, Riley, Peyton, Alexander, Clark, Raylan, Lorelai and Henry; brother, Roger (Vonda) Johnson and sister, Pamela (Rick) Jones; and step-children: William Berry Jr., Mark Berry. She also loved many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mack & Ethel Johnson, husband William Eugene Berry, Terry Lee Ritenour Sr, son Richard Lee Ritenour, grandson Kevin M. Ritenour,

Sheila was LOVED by many and if you knew her as family or friend you were lucky. She was the most happy, loving, welcoming, confident, strong soul and caring person you would have the pleasure to encounter. She was the most unique and special person that touched so many hearts and never wavered from who she was and what she believed in. She taught her family so much that will be carried on for generations. The number one thing is to never give up. She also gave a new meaning to the word FIGHT. She fought for many years just to stay with her family. We love you Mom, Gram, Sis, and Aunt Sheila, you will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 9:30-11 a.m. EDT at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating.

Burial will be in the Tyner Cemetery in Tyner, Indiana.

My sincerest condolences to the Family and Friends of Sheila. My memories of Sheila are her confident entrance getting on school bus each morning. Many times hertaki ghertime while Bob the driver waited patiently. Her sitting in church brushing her angora around Terrys class ring. She was always beautiful and held her head up. Sincere condolances
    Kathy
