Shirley Elaine Richardson

September 15, 1935 - January 21, 2017

Shirley Elaine (La Munion) Richardson, 81, of Las Vegas, went to be with the Lord and her daughter in heaven on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Shirley was born September 15, 1935 in the family home in Kewanna, Indiana, to the late Forrest and Dolores (Woolington) La Munion.
She graduated from Tyner High School in 1954. The day after graduation, Shirley took a train to Las Vegas and married Rick “Luther” Richardson on May 29, 1954; he preceded her in death.
She belonged to the culinary union of which she was an active member, worker, in various hotels until her health forced her to retire. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, sewing, bowling in her earlier years. She enjoyed entertaining for celebrities and dignitaries. She was a beautiful, classy woman who loved Las Vegas and the surrounding majestic mountains. Shirley was very close to her only child; Jeri Lee; who preceded her in death. Surviving are Shirley’s two wonderful grandchildren; Stephanie Lee Schenk, and Ricky Schenk both of Las Vegas, a son-in-law; Ray Schenk, seven siblings; Joy (John) Jennings of Argos, Carol Huebner of San Antonio, Texas, Beverly Smith of Plymouth, Diana (Robin) Smith of Plymouth, Norman (Carla) La Munion of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Dennis (Patricia) La Munion of Grovertown, and Roger La Munion of Argos. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Jeri Lee (Richardson) Schenk and one brother; Richard Earl La Munion.
Many wonderful times were spent together with family and she will be sadly missed, but loved forever. Per Shirley’s wishes, no visitation or services will be planned.
