Shirley Jean Walker

May 5, 1929 - May 21, 2000
In Memorial

Shirley Walker, 71, a former resident of Plymouth on McLiver Drive. A resident of 16518 Fairfax Drive, Fountain Hills, Arizona, since 1989, Shirley died of natural causes, after facing illness through most of her life. She died at home on Sunday, May 21, 2000, at 3 a.m.

Born in Plymouth on Feb. 5, 1929, Shirley was the daughter of Eldon Thomas and Phoebe Baker Magnuson.  She attended South Bend Riley High School and received her Licensed Security Broker title from the University of Evansville.

She was a broker with the Northern Securities of South Bend until 1970 and was a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers.  At home, she will long be remembered for the love for her four children.

On Nov. 13, 1970, in Shawneetown, Ill., Shirley and Cecil Kenneth Walker were married.

She had attended the County Line Church of the Brethren and the LaPaz Church of God.

 Shirley is survived by her husband and three children: Timothy E. and Robin Jackson, Kalamazoo, Mich., Jeffrey Lee and Debbie Jackson, Plymouth and Karen Sue and Larry Long, Goshen.  Ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive as well, together with her sister, Lois Rash, of Plymouth.

  Three step-daughters and a step-son also survive.  They are: Kit B. and Buddy Weilage, Louisville, Ky., Debbie Walker, Dorian and Ralph Peacock  and C.K. Jr. and Janis Walker, all of Tallahassee, Fla.

 Ten step-brothers and three step-sisters survive also.

 Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Jackson who died in 1985 and Carl Magnuson, her step-father.

 Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2000, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

 Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2000, in the funeral home.  The Rev. Jim Gilmer, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
