Sister M. Charlette Hess, PHJC, 87, died at 1 a.m. in the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson, Indiana. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
Sister Charlette was born on September 12, 1922, in Ruma, ILL She was the daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Schilling Hess.
She entered the convent of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ on December 1, 1942 and professed her vows on June 25, 1945.
Her ministry in life was with the Angel Guardian Orphanage and St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, ILL. She also served in the Meredith Retirement Home, Henke Home and St. John’s Orphanage in Belleville, ILL.
Sister Charlette is survived by family members Cathy Mechler, Alice Benner, Mary Rice and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm, in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson, IN.
A Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m.
Father Ed Konnerman will celebrate the funeral mass in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel on Friday morning at 11 a.m.. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Donaldson, IN.
