Sr. M. Vincenti Guettermann

Sr. M. Vincenti Guetterman PHJC, age 96, died at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Catherine Kasper Home, Donaldson. Sr. Vincenti was born on September 17, 1906 in New Athens, Ill. to John and Louise Hummel Guettermann. Sister entered the Community of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ on July 21, 1927 and professed her first vows on June 27, 1929 .

Sr. Vincenti worked four years as a cafeteria supervisor in the Catholic Central High School in Hammond , Ind. She achieved a degree in Nursing and completed her post graduate work. She then became a surgical supervisor at the following locations: St. Anne’s Hospital, Chicago , Ill. for 18 years, St. Francis Hospital , Superior , Wisconsin for 12 years, Holy Family Hospital , LaPorte , Ind. for two years and St. Joseph ’s Hospital, Mishawaka , Ind. for over 18 years. In 1983 she retired to the Catherine Kasper Home, Donaldson.

Survivors include two brothers, Norman Guetterman of Atchison , Kansas and Joseph Guetterman of Belleville , Ill. with several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4:30 – 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 23rd in the Catherine Kasper Chapel, Donaldson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24th in the Catherine Kasper Chapel, Donaldson. Reverends. Fr. Edward Konerman and Fr. William Kummer will officiate.
