Sue Carole Williams, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Wellbrooke of South Bend. Born on January 15, 1942 in Niles, MI, Sue was the daughter of Ira Ruben and Nellie (Elliott) Hartman.

Sue proudly graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1959. She went on to hold a dedicated career as a bookkeeper; retiring from the Edward Lowe Foundation in Cass County, Michigan. Throughout the years, Sue enjoyed serving others through her involvement with the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Plymouth; truly showing how big her heart was in the countless hours she dedicated.

In her free time, spending time with her family was at the heart of what was most important to her. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue and her life partner, Roger loved traveling. As a family, they made memories all over the country, from visiting San Francisco to wintering in Florida, traveling the east coast, spending time with family in Chicago, and taking her first cruise with her daughter. Sue cherished this time spent together.

A longtime member of the Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, Sue was a woman with strong faith. She leaves behind a legacy of treating others fairly with kindness and respect.

Sue is survived by her children, Jonna (Brent) Mabry of Denton, TX, John (Tracy) Williams of Plymouth, IN, and Brett Williams of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Jaime (Grady), Dylan (Allison), Sydney, Jacob, Jordyn (Lanie) and Jonathon (Emily), Kyle, Britany, Meriah great-grandchildren, Savannah, Stetson, Norah Faye, Mack, Livvy, and Cash; and her brother, Bill Hartman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Ruben and Nellie; her son Chris A. Williams; brother, Edward Hartman; life partner, Roger Berg; along with first husband and father of her children, John Williams.

Per Sue’s wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
