Sylvia I. Louderback, 91, a Tyner resident for many years before moving to Plymouth twenty years ago, died, following an illness, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 11:50 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005. She had previously lived at 17675 10B Road in Plymouth.

Sylvia was born in North Liberty, Ind., on February 2, 1914. She was the daughter of Perry and Nora Chadwell Singleton. She attended North Liberty schools.

On April 8, 1933, in LaPorte, Ind., Sylvia and Ralph Louderback were married. Ralph died in September of 1979.

She was a hard and tireless worker. She was employed and retired from F.W. Means company in South Bend, as a mender.

A friendly, social person, Sylvia loved playing Bingo and was very good at it. She played a number of card games also, but her chief claim to fame among her friends and family was that she had a home remedy for just about every aliment.

She was a member of the Plymouth Ladies of the Moose.

Sylvia is survived by her two children: a daughter, Alberta “Birdie” Huff of Plymouth and a son, Richard Lauderback, of Alabama. Seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and their three sons: Eldon, Alfred and Robert Louderback. A granddaughter and four brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Charles and Eldon Singleton also died before her.

Friends are invited to visit with the family and share memories of Sylvia’s life from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2005, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

A Ladies of the Moose service will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.

Funeral services for Sylvia , officiated by Jim Repp, pastor of the Plymouth Baptist Church, will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, Ind.
