Ted E. Milkey

June 17, 1952 - April 27, 2009
In Memorial

Ted E. Milkey, 56, of Carmel, Indiana, died Monday, April 27, 2009, in Community North Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A devoted son, loving father, husband and brother, Ted died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Born in Plymouth on June 17, 1952, Ted was the son of Ralph and Doris Julia DeMien Milkey.
A tall, thin basketball player, he graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1970, and from Butler University in 1975, having played basketball for four years at both schools and varsity tennis at PHS.
At Butler he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
Ted retired in 2005, as the C.F.O. of Community Hospital, Indianapolis, after over 20 years of dedicated service.
He was an avid poker player and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas. Ted is survived by his wife, Paula Surber, two sons, Scott Aaron, Indianapolis, and Jeffrey Adam Milkey, Cincinnati, Ohio, and a daughter, Anne Elizabeth, Carmel.
A brother, Russ (Kim) of Arcadia, IN., and several nieces and nephews survive as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services for Ted will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in New Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ted’s memory may be made to the Wellness Community Center for Cancer Support or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
