Terry A. Kovacs, Sr., 71, passed away on June 21, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. The son of Christina Carolyn Kovacs, Terry was born on February 19, 1955 at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth.
Terry married the love of his life, Beverly Sibert, on July 9, 1973. Together they had two sons, Frances “Andy” Kovacs and Terry Kovacs, Jr. Known as a hardworking family man, Terry was a dedicated provider for his family, working in various roles over the years including being a fabricator/welder at IT Equipment, a supervisor at Glenmark, and a fork life driver with Indiana Heat.
Terry’s tough exterior softened as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along. He was the happiest when he was cooking out and spending time with his family. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars while listening to classic rock, casting a reel at his favorite fishing spot, or camping with those he loved. Terry also spent time in a car club in his younger years, the Rebel Rousers.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years, Bev; children Frances “Andy” Kovacs (Cassie Pierce) and Terry A. Kovacs, Jr. (Christa Davis); grandchildren, Damon (Nicole) and Lenora; great-granddaughter, Madison; and his sister, Kathy Hess.
Terry is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn; great-grandson, Skylar Kovacs; sister, Rose Hattery; grandfather, Frances (Laura) Kovacs; brothers-in-law, Dennis Rhoads, Leonard Hess, and Richard Hattery; nephew, Jason Hattery; aunt, Ruthann Vermillion; and mother-in-law, Delores Sibert-Bailes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 1- 3 PM at the Plymouth Moose Lodge, 1225 W. Jefferson Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
