Terry Russell Perschke

Terry Russell Perschke, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Community Hospital of Bremen. Born on June 16, 1947, in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, Terry was the son of Lyle and Elizabeth (Schaner) Perschke.

After high school, Terry went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that remained a great source of pride throughout his years. Terry also had a lifelong passion for aviation that he loved sharing with family and friends. That interest carried into his professional career, where he found success working as a Territory Manager for Praxair.

To those who knew him best, Terry was a truly honorable man. His honor was reflected not only in his military service, but in the way he lived his life and treated those around him. He had a tremendous capacity to love and was thoughtful, accepting, and steadfast. Terry was the kind of person who was there for others, even when he knew the same kindness might not be returned. When he cared about someone or something, he did so wholeheartedly.

Terry had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed photography and working with computers and could often be found watching some of his favorite television shows, including Gunsmoke, I Love Lucy, Family Ties, and Married... with Children. He was also incredibly passionate about his high-performance cars. Among his prized vehicles were his 2008 Mustang GT, 2000 Mustang, and 2003 Mustang. Whether it was aviation, cars, or another interest that caught his attention, Terry approached the things he loved with genuine passion and enthusiasm.

Some of Terry's most treasured memories were made boating with his family. Above all else, family was at the heart and soul of his life. He was completely devoted to those he loved, and nowhere was that more evident than in the bond he shared with his son, Ryan. Terry was much more than a father to him; he was Ryan's best friend and confidant. Wise and savvy, Terry was the person Ryan could always turn to for advice, encouragement, support, or simply to share a good time.

Terry is survived by his son, Ryan Perschke; daughter, Erin Moe; his King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Danny; and Ryan’s Yorkie, KC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Elizabeth Perschke.

Terry will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Plymouth. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11AM with military honors rendered by the United States Navy and the American Legion Post 27.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Ryan Perschke to assist with his father’s final expenses.
