Thomas R. Fisher

November 12, 1932 - November 27, 2017

Thomas Ronald Fisher, 85, passed away peacefully at 8:55 p.m. Monday, November 27th in the Catherine Kasper Life Center – Donaldson, Indiana where he has made his home for the past year.
Tom was born the son of Thomas Glenn and Esther Cecilia (Eich) Fisher in Plymouth on November 12, 1932. He graduated from St. Michael Academy and Plymouth High School.
Tom had a career with the Ford Motor Company working at the Chicago Heights stamping plant for 38 years. During that time, he resided in Crown Point, Indiana. In 2002 he returned to Plymouth. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where he often had repairs made to the concrete walks and provided the fence surrounding the church cemetery.
He was always respectful of his parents and family members that now included his three nieces; Sharon Bouchard of Annapolis, Maryland, Sue Gillespie of Cincinnati, Ohio and Nancy (Ron) Baugher of Silver Springs, Maryland. Great nephews and a niece are: Jim Martin, Nicalaus Bouchard, Matt Gillespie and Nicole Shoemake and cousin Eileen Helms of Plymouth. Although known to be quiet and reserved, he retained a good sense of humor around those he knew. Tom seldom missed a morning in the company of others at Cindy’s Restaurant south of Plymouth. It was there he became acquainted with friend and caregiver Gloria Weiss who was many times his angel and extended family. Tom loved his dog, White Eagle and enjoyed taking him for walks and enjoying the outdoors and nature along the way. He often watched televised sports especially Notre Dame football. Tom also had an eye for art and design. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Rutley.
Visitation for Tom will be Friday from 1 – 2 p.m. in the Catherine Kasper Chapel, Donaldson and from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St. Plymouth with Pastor John Korcsmar C.S.C. officiating. Calling will continue in the church at 10:30 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will follow in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Preferred are memorial gifts to St. Michael Parish, 612 N. Walnut St. Plymouth or the Marshall County Humane Society P.O. Box 22, Plymouth, IN 46563.
