Timothy L. Cornett, 57, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Indiana Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born on July 31, 1966 in Kirksville, Missouri he was the son of Clarence “Hank” and Mary (Pratte) Cornett.
He attended Lakeville High School and fell in love with his high school sweetheart Jean Daugherty and they were married on April 27, 1990 in South Bend. Tim attended Southern New Hampshire University and worked as an area manager for J.W. Hicks in Knox for several years.
Known as a strong-minded man, but was somewhat of a softy when it came to his grandchildren. Endearingly known as Papa to the grandkids, he never missed out on spending quality time with them, making it an annual weekly quality time with them. Tim also had a great sense of humor, looking for a way to put a smile on someone’s face.
Family was everything to Tim, a wonderful provider that worked multiple jobs to always make sure that Jean and their boys were always taken care of and never went without. Some might say that he was downright dependable always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Tim enjoyed his 2002 Wide Glide Harley, going “Jeeping” with Jean, spending time at the gym working out and enjoying one of his favorite treats ice cream.
He is survived by his mother Mary (Harvey) Jackson of Mishawaka; wife Jean of Plymouth; sons: Josh (Holly) Cornett of Walkerton; Cameron Cornett of Plymouth; grandchildren: Harper, Harlow and Judson; siblings: Rodger (Linda) Cornett of Ft. Wayne; Dehma (Ron) Nye of Bremen; Kevin Cornett of Mishawaka; Debbie Clark (Tim Phillips) of South Bend; Jeff (Lisa) Cornett.
Tim is preceded in death by his father Clarence “Hank” Cornett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Prayer Service will immediately follow with Fr. Keeton Lockwood.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

I’ve been friends with Tim since he was about 6 years old. He was so ornery and always made me laugh! I used to babysit once in a while for his niece when I was 12. Tim would come over to keep me company and he would have me laughing with all the tales of the things he & his friends were doing & he was only 11; I envied him and his fearlessness & mischievous ways! And I swear, he had to have been born with that 1000 watt smile! I’ll never forget his smile. He was such a good man. You could see how much he loved Jeannie & his sons; his whole family. This last year was really a blessing from God. He gave all of you the time to really cherish eachother, and be close because God knew that you really understood how precious life is at that point. I’m so, so, so sorry for your loss. I pray God will hold you all in His arms and comfort you. I know that Tim’s lighting up Heaven with his 1000 watt smile watching over his loved ones.
Love & hugs

I worked with Tim at JW Hicks for two years and it was so much fun. I remember he helped put the laminator back together when I almost broke it lol. He laughed and just helped me put it back together. He was down to earth, a big softie, and sweet. He always checked up on me when I was pregnant with my son. God has a plan for him and now his body can rest. Rest easy my friend. Until we meet again.

Cam, Josh and Jean,
I’m genuinely saddened to hear of this news. Mr. Cornett was always a great neighbor and man. He was very kind to me whenever I would walk across the yard and hang out with Josh. I’m praying for each of you and sending love your way!
