Viola M. Gerlack

December 14, 1914 - December 31, 1999
In Memorial

Viola M. Gerlack, 85, 612 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, died unexpectedly from natural causes at her residence on Friday, December 31, 1999, at 9 a.m.  Vi had come to Plymouth from Riverside, California, in September of 1999.

She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on December 14, 1914, the daughter of Cecil and Minnie Hatfield Rowell.

In October of 1951, Vi and Harold L. Gerlach were married in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Harold died in 1985.

A homemaker, she was an avid painter.  She loved to work in her garden and enjoyed going to the casinos in Las Vegas.

Vi is survived by a daughter, Nancy and Raymond Davis of Plymouth.

Two grandsons, Scott and An M. Davis and Robert Tolbert and two granddaughters, Janice Meredith, all of Plymouth and Ruth Davis, Riverside, Calif., survive as well.  Four great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter also survive.

Her parents, her husband, Harold and two grandsons, Arch and Timothy Davis, preceded Vi in death.

Friends of the family may visit on Tuesday, January 4, 2000, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.

The funeral, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2000, immediately following visitation.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
