Violet Crabb

December 5, 1914 — August 22, 2005

Violet Crabb, a life time member of this community, formerly of 333 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, died of natural causes at 8:45 p.m. , on Monday, August 22, 2005, in Walkerton’s Miller’s Miller Manor. She was 90-years-old.

Violet was the daughter of Festus and Pearl Smith Turner. She was born in Plymouth on December 5, 1914.

On December 25, 1938, in Crown Point, Ind., Violet and James Francis Crabb were married. Her husband died, after a fifty year marriage, on September 3, 1988.

A homemaker, Violet went to work at a Bendix plant to help the war effort during World War II. She was employed by the Bendix Corp. for over 30 years.

Violet enjoyed crafts of all kinds. She was adept at knitting and crocheting and was a very good cook. After her husband’s retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling together.

She was a member of the Plymouth’s Eastern Star organization.

Violet is survived by her niece and her husband, Rose and Harvey Wolff of North Liberty, Ind. and by nieces, Lori Mitchell, Lakeville,and Karen and Chuck Harris, Huntington, Ind.

Also surviving are Michael and Debbie Wolff, Red Bird Mission, Ky.; Steven and Michele Wolff, Lakeville, Ind., and Roberta Boland, Ariz., and numerous other nephews and nieces. Violet was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.

Friends will be welcomed by her family at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind., on Thursday, August 25, 2005, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Funeral services for Violet will follow visitation in the funeral home at 3 p.m. on that afternoon. Karl Brenner, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Bend, will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in Violet’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
