Wanda Culp

Wanda Culp, 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Born on July 16, 1949 in Prestonsburg,  Kentucky she was the daughter of Ernest and America (Whit)  Prater.

She attended Warsaw High School graduating with the class of 1968.

One evening as Vearl was playing in a country western band in Bremen he met the love of his life Wanda Prater, they would unite in marriage on April 9, 1972 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2021.

Wanda was a homemaker for most of her life. She was known as a person who was honest to a fault, who would shoot it to you straight, and that was one of her greatest attributes that her children want to carry on. She was also known as a funny and extremely caring woman that had a huge heart and would give her shirt off her back to you.

She enjoyed gardening, painting and remodeling. In fact, she made it a project to redo a different room in her house every year. She often found herself in reading a good book, especially recipes that she would find and try out those meals on her family. Wanda was a wonderful baker and her family enjoyed her cookies.

She is survived by her children: Carl (Bobbie) Culp of Ft. Wayne; Duane (Jacquelynn) Culp of Plymouth; Heather (Michael) Drang of Ora, IN; Vearl (Jennifer) Culp Jr. of Culver; sister Tina Meak of TN; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vearl, siblings: Junior Prater, Raymond Prater and Francis Eckman.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Doug Dieterly.

Burial will follow in the Fair Cemetery, Lakeville.

Memorial contributions can be donated to the Plymouth Baptist Church, 11345 9A Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563.
