Wilda J. Cruse

April 10, 1935 — December 15, 2000

Wilda J. Cruse, 65, died at her Neidlinger Garden Court residence, 905 Berkley Street, Plymouth.  She died peacefully in prayer, while in the company of her family,  on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at 9:15 a.m. Wilda had lived in Plymouth since 1996, moving here from Knox where she had lived from 1981 to 1996.

Wilda was born on April 10, 1935, in Niles, Mich., the daughter of William H. and Hazel I. Blanchard Hibnar.  She attended Plymouth High School and graduated from Knox Beauty College.

On June 15, 1989 in Leesburg, Vir., she was married to Richard J. Cruse Sr.

At one time Wilda lived in South Bend.  For many years she operated her own beauty shop, Wilda’s Beauty Salon, in Knox.  A homemaker, she was a major Notre Dame fan.  She enjoyed gospel music and loved time spent with her family and will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother.

A lifelong member of the Church of God, she joined the First Community Church of God, LaPaz in 1996. Wilda was also a member of the Knox Ladies of the Moose, #633.

She is survived by her spouse and by three daughters and two sons.  Her daughters are: Becky A. (Bradley) Lovern, Cape Coral, Fla., Brenda S. (Bradley) Sherer, Milford, Ind., and  Kathy R. (Boulis) Guy, South Bend.  Her sons are: Michael T. Bradley, Plymouth and Patrick A. Bradley, Ft. Pierce, Fla.

Two step-daughters and a step-son survive as well.  They are: Shari Cruse, Culver, Mika J. Balston, Plymouth and Richard Cruse, Jr., Ft. Wayne.

Eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two-step-great-grandchildren also survive, together with four sisters: Arlene Bowden, Clovis, New Mexico, Helen Watters and Doris and Nelson Yockey, all of Plymouth and Lorna and Lavern Hazard, Cassopolis, Mich.

Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, a five-year old brother, Garold and  infant brother, Harold.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 17, 2000, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2000, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Mike VanDeVoorde, Youth pastor of the South Side Church of God, South Bend, will officiate.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox.
