Willard Burkholder

J. Willard Burkholder, 90, of Tyner, IND., died at 9:38 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, IND.

Willard was born in Polk Township, Marshall County, on May 14, 1918. He was the son of Jesse and Ruth Killian Burkholder.

He graduated from Tyner High School and for 56 years was self-employed in the plumbing, heating and electrical business in Tyner, retiring in 1989.

On January 28, 1940, Willard and Winnifred York were married in Waterloo, IND. Winnifred died in December of 1992.

He was then married Wanda Burkholder from November 1994 until December 1995.

Willard attended the Blissville Church of the Brethren and the Christian Center.

He is survived by four sons and a daughter. They are: Ronald Burkholder, Argos: Alan Burkholder, Walkerton: Randy Burkholder, Plymouth and Arden Burkholder, Dallas, Texas. A daughter, Laverne Replogle is also of Plymouth.

Ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren, also survive.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents,his wife Winnifred, a great-granddaughter, three sisters and a brother.

Friends are invited to share memories and to celebrate the life of Willard Burkholder with his family at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth on Friday, January 2, 2009, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Funeral services for Willard will follow visitation at noon in the funeral home. The Rev. Dester Cummins, pastor of the Blissville Church of the Brethren, will officiate.

Interment will be in the Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, IN.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Blissville Church of the Brethren.
