Wilma M. Birk

November 2, 1940 - May 13, 2007
In Memorial

Wilma M. “Willie” Birk, 66, formerly of Plymouth, died of natural causes at her residence, 10435 N. Stockdale Road, Roann, Indiana, at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2007.
A devoted mother, she was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Willie was born in Grovertown, Ind., on November 3, 1940. She was the daughter of Elvin Wesley Eads and Sylvia Reinholt Eads Skoog.
She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1958.
On October 1, 1960, in Plymouth, Willie and Robert L. Birk were married.
A homemaker, Willie was very creative and artistically skilled. She loved gardening and working with her lush flowers. She enjoyed sign language and playing games, including Bingo.
Willie appreciated all kinds of music.
She was a member of the Peru Card club and Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority. Willie is survived by her husband Robert and by their five children; three sons and two daughters.
Her daughters and grandchildren are: Robin (Peter, “Chip”) VanBuskirk, and their children, Matthew and Megan, Las Vegas, Nev., and Rhonda (Greg) Dale and their children, Grant and Gracie, North Manchester, Ind.
Her sons are: Rodney ( Ann) Birk, and their children, Lindsay (Brian) Swihart, Braden and Bayli, Wabash, Ind.: Randall and Estelle Birk and their children, Marissa and Jacob, Las Vegas, Nev., and Robert “Boo” Birk, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Two sisters, Connie (Michael) Gardner, Bremen, Ind.; and Vickie (Kim) Finkenbiner, North Webster, Ind., and two brothers, Arlie (Dorothy) Eads, Plymouth, Ind., and Eugene (Linda) Eads, Las Vegas, Nev., also survive.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents and two granddaughters, Brittany Truss and Britain Birk. A sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Carl Zimmerman have also died.
Friends will be welcomed by Willie’s family to share memories and celebrate her life on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services for Willie will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind. Memorial gifts in Willie’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
